Earnest "Ernie" Vernati, Remembered for His Love for Family and Joy in Grandchildren

Peotone - Earnest “Ernie” Vernati, 74, a beloved resident of Peotone, passed away on January 7, 2025. Born on January 23, 1950, in West Virginia, Ernie was cherished for his dedication to his family, especially his wife and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Vernati; his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Ronald Winkle; step-daughter and step-son-in-law Lisa and Bill Lewis; several grandchildren; and sisters Nora, Sheila, Karen, and Kimberly. Ernie's love for his family, particularly his grandchildren, brought him immense pride and joy.

Cremation rites have been performed, with a private burial service scheduled at Peotone Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his son, Ernest Vernati.
