56.1% of Peotone Junior High School students meet or exceed ELA IAR expectations on tests in 2023-24 school year

Peotone Junior High School reported that 56.1% of its students passed the ELA portion of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) test in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Of the 294 students who took part in the IAR 43.5% met the testing standard while 12.6% exceeded expectations and scored highest on the test.

The total percentage of Peotone Junior High School students who met or exceeded their ELA expectations was unchanged from the previous school year.

Peotone Junior High School is located within Peotone Community Unit School District 207U, which roughly covers four schools and has a main office in Peotone.

The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) measures how well students in grades 3-8 are progressing toward state standards in English language arts and mathematics.

Illinois has approved a 2025 budget that allocates $8.6 billion to K-12 education, a $350 million increase from the previous fiscal year—the minimum required under the state funding formula.
