The Peotone Community Unit School District 207U Board of Education has announced a vacancy on its board and is seeking candidates to fill the position. The person appointed will serve until the next Board of Education election, which is scheduled for the first Tuesday in April 2027.
To be eligible, candidates must be United States citizens, residents of Illinois and the Peotone School District for at least one year before appointment, at least 18 years old, registered voters, and must not hold another incompatible public office. Individuals with a record of criminal sexual misconduct that requires registration are not eligible.
Applicants are expected to be familiar with the board’s policies concerning general duties and responsibilities, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest rules, ethics standards, and gift bans. These policies can be reviewed on the district’s website at www.peotoneschools.org.
Interested individuals should complete an application through the Peotone CUSD 207U Board Vacancy Application link. The application process requires uploading a resume and a letter of interest. All materials must be submitted by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025.
