The Peotone Community Unit School District 207U Board of Education has announced a vacancy on its board and is seeking candidates to fill the position. The selected candidate will serve until the next Board of Education election, which is scheduled for the first Tuesday in April 2027.

To be eligible, applicants must be United States citizens, residents of Illinois and the Peotone School District for at least one year prior to appointment, at least 18 years old, registered voters, not hold another incompatible public office, and have no record of criminal sexual misconduct requiring registration.

Applicants are expected to be familiar with the board’s policies regarding general duties and responsibilities, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics, and gift ban. These policies are available on the district’s website at www.peotoneschools.org.

Candidates interested in applying should complete the application process through the Peotone CUSD 207U Board Vacancy Application link. A resume and letter of interest must be uploaded as part of the application. All materials must be submitted by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24th.
